we have been trying to find similar videos of film openings that relate to our own film opening.
our genre is comedy/ romance so we have been trying to find openings similar to that."Hitch". we believe that this film relates to our film opening because it starts of strasight away into the movie. the film stars Will Smith plays a guy who’s so smooth he turned it into a career as a “date doctor,” helping a succession of good-hearted guys make it into the arms of gorgeous women who otherwise wouldn’t have looked twice at them. the movie opening is of him narrating about himself, and we get to him in action, helping out a person on a date.
the way this relates to our film is because we see to people (a boy- kadeem and a girl- maisie) getting ready to go out. we know that they are going to meet at one point and as this is a comedy/ romance, they would fall in love with each other by accident. in "Hitch", we see the potential set up that are made up Will Smith. in our film this could be a potential set up as well.

the potential target audience for this film opening would be young people who enjoy watch romantic/comedic films. most likely more women would be more interested than men, but this film has a lot of stuff for men to be interested in as well.

our group (me, maisie and kadeem) have been working on our opening of the film "Love At First Hit". 

for the past few weeks we have been planning and filming our 2 minute opening for our film. the genre is comedy/ romance. the main characters are maisie and kadeem. what we have filmed so far is maisie getting dressed in her home and getting ready for work. we have also filmed her going down he stairs from a low angle shot and pan. 

we have filmed kadeem getting ready  wearing his helmet and getting on his scooter and riding off in to the road.

lastly we have filmed maisie walking down the road towards the bus stop. we used a variety of shot for example we have used panning, medium shot and a close up shot. 

sometimes some members have been absent and so therefore we haven't finished filming which is causing our group to fall behind in finishing as we should be on to editing our film, but i have edited only part of the film and there is more filming to do. the filming that is left to do is how maisie and kadeem meet for the first time when she drops her money that she gets out from her purse. we also have to film the part of where they meet and fall in love at first sight as he is helping her with her money. and also the part of where she tells him to go away and then as he is walking away, she looks after him as he walking and she bumps into a lamp post and he laughs. that is what we have left to film.

i have edited up to part where she walks up to bus stop and is looking at her watch and the part where kadeem rides off on his scooter on the road.

there have many meetings where some members of our group, hence less filming being done. 

we have yet also to write a score for the opening of our film. as it is a romantic/ comedy we are also trying to relate it to the film. i have been checking many instruments and melodies and techniques to make the music more affective.

so far me, maisie and kadeem have filmed the bus stop scene on where maisie rushes to the bus stop and kadeem gets on his scooter and is riding up to the bus stop and where maisie drops her money. we used different angles, long shot, pan and shot from behind.

The Genre our group has chosen to do is Rom-Com (Romantic Comedy) i myslef is goin to play the role of the girl and kadeem is playing the role of the boy..the story is about a higher working class girl rushing to get ready for work who is getting frustrated to be on time..and kadeem is going to be the young normal guy who is driving past on his motorbike..i am going to be rushing out the door running to the bus stop as i get to the bus-stop i pull out my purse to look for change to get on the bus and i drop my change everywhere on the floor and i get really angry..Kadeem the young boy is going to be driving past me on his motor bike at this time and sees me in a state and stops on his bike to give me a hand..at first im quite ignerent by not looking at him while he saids are you ok let me help you..and i just keep my head down with emabressemtn and tells him to leave me alone...as all my change is back in my purse and he passes me the last coin i had dropped..i look at him while he carefully passes me the pound coin we both look at eachother in the face and we are both love struck..Kadeem smirkes with a cheeky smile and shrugs his head and is a little offended by me being ungreatful..but we couldnt help but look at eachother where its first saigns of falling in love.. we both turn around with our backs to eachother and keep looking back where he walks over to start his motorbike to drive off and im taking a few steps to walk back to the bus stop..as i do this i smack my head off the lampost next to me and this is where the comedy kicks in ..because he laughs..and i loose my ignerence and laugh with him the location is at my house when i am getting ready and walk out my door and the bus stop is around our school area..

Maisie

The skills our group were asked to deomonstrate during the premilary exercise were to demonstrate a good standerd use and evolvement of camera work such as shot reverse shot,holding the camera still while filming when neccersary, using and holding the tripod properly and understanding the meaning of shots and the difference between them.Our group Props such as chairs, that were layed out a certinan way to mimick a police stations interview room, actors and actresses tone of voice when being filmed for example talking on one level with authority,Also a plastic bag was used in this exercise as a evidence bag that was shown to the suspect being interviewed it had a good sense of realism.
I have learnt that technology from the process of constructing our film is that the editing of the excercise can be very difficult to get accurate when cutting parts out of scenes and when experimenting with non-diagetic sound effects our group discussed to add can be difficult consdiering I myself i have never used this type of softwhare before.i have learnt that holiding the camera to get a certian type of camera shot needs alot of effort to get accurate and that editing on the laptop is a long hard proceedure.
The most significant contribution to the construction of the film was that I came up with the idea of a suspect being interviewed in a police station,I myslef wrote the script of the premilary exercise by freestyling and imgaination.I contributed by organising the set of the exercise and getting the appropriate layout so particular camera shots were spot on.The target I would set our group for the main task would be to balance out the camera work so we have all took part in being in control of the camera, to be more focused, being more serious when acting because it will take up less time when editing on the laptop, making sure camera shots are obvious to identify when being watched by us and the audience and to be upto date with all work so we are well prepared for the real thing.
